My favorites in .NET

Recently, one of my friends asked me what technology within .NET i like most although he knew what the answer would be.

Every software developers or programmers have some kind of preferred programming language or platform for them .There are few who like to work on anything (few exceptions).

Over the past few years, i did get an opportunity to work on different things which was across different domains / platforms…

But again when someone asks me what’s your preferred platform, without any guess i answer .NET. Yes, that’s it …

But there are lot of things revolving around .NET isn’t it? It’s not just one programming language or product and which one is my favorite….

Some of .NET flavors include

  • Windows Presentation Foundation
  • ASP.NET Web Forms
  • Silverlight
  • Windows Phone 7 Development
  • Compact Framework
  • WinForms
  • Windows Communication Foundation
  • Sharepoint Development
  • C# , F# , VB.NET
  • Windows Azure
  • SQL Server
  • and the list goes on …

There are few of my favorites in the above list which includes ASP.NET , Windows Phone 7 Development  , Compact Framework and latest addition includes DotnetNuke ( Although DotnetNuke isn’t more of a .NET product or so.. it’s a ASP.NET based CMS ) . I could also say that SharePoint is also on its way to become my favorites but i need to spend more time on it to include it explore in depth.

What is your Favorite in .NET ?
