This blog post will explain how to change the settings to automatically move the cell pointer after entering data in Microsoft Excel 2013 .

Microsoft Excel by default moves the cell pointer to the next cell below (next row) whenever you press an enter key. You can modify this behaviour via the Excel Options Dialog .

Follow the below steps to change the settings of automatically moving the cell pointer in Microsoft Excel 2013.

1. Navigate to File -> Options and select the Advanced Tab in the Excel Options Dialog.

2. Check the option “After pressing Enter move selection” and select the direction to other option apart from Down.

3. Click Ok .

4. Now , enter the data in a call and press the enter key . You will notice the difference in how the cell pointer navigates as soon as you presses the enter key.
